Learning Administration Apprentice – Southmead

Job Description

This is an exciting and rare opportunity to work for a leading local charity, supporting the learning and development team. St Peter’s Hospice is a local charity that provides care and support to adults who are living with a progressive life-limiting illness in the Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset area and are looking for an organised, enthusiastic apprentice to play a crucial role in enhancing the learning experience for their wider team.

Responsibilities

In this varied and interesting role, you will be working as part of a small and dynamic team within the People Team. You will be supporting the Learning and Development Business Partner, playing a crucial role in enhancing digital initiatives, while gaining valuable skills and experience in a Learning and Development environment.

In this role, you will support the development, implementation and maintenance of the digital learning resources and learning management platform. You will work closely with the Learning and Development team to ensure the smooth operation of the online learning programs and contribute to enhancing the overall learning experience for users.

This role will focus on the digital elements of administration for the Learning and Development team, this includes configuring and updating the Learning Management System (The Knowledge Centre) to improve effectiveness of learning and improve the online learning journey for their people. This role will also take responsibility for updating online training content with direction from the Learning and Development Business Partner.

With training and support, you will become an expert of the learning platform, becoming a main point of contact and provide training sessions to all staff, increasing confidence and engagement with our digital learning.

You will also support the Learning and Development Business Partner in fulfilling everyday business administration, including minute taking, reporting, and preparing and booking training sessions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of digital learning content, including videos, interactive modules, and online assessments.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and instructional designers to ensure content accuracy, relevance, and alignment with learning objectives.
  • Support the administration of learning management systems (LMS) and other digital learning platforms, including user management, content uploads, and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Monitor learner engagement and progress, providing timely support and assistance as needed.
  • Conduct research on emerging trends and technologies in digital learning to inform continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist with data collection and analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of digital learning initiatives and inform future strategies.
  • Provide administrative support to the learning and development team, including scheduling meetings, managing documentation, and coordinating communications.

Person Specification

  • Enthusiasm for digital learning and a keen interest in educational technology.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with digital content creation tools.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) English and Maths.

Training

During this advanced apprenticeship, you will learn a vast range of knowledge, skills and behaviours, covering topics such as project management, systems & processes, business structures and so much more.

You will undertake the ground-breaking Professional Apprenticeships Business Administrator Level 3 qualification. Professional Apprenticeships hold the title of Bristol and Bath Apprenticeship Training Provider of the Year for 2021. They also boast the highest Ofsted rating, which only a select few training providers in the region have.

The programme is designed to mould you into a high-level, all-rounded business professional. You will learn in detail about business communication, organisation, managing change, problem solving & much more.
